PTO Programs and Fundraising
The TJ PTO has an annual budget of $20,000 per year, or ~$67 spending per student, with four program areas: Arts in Education, Classroom Resources, Programs and Events, and Administrative. These four areas require annual fundraising initiatives of $20,000.

We have events throughout the year to help raise these funds. While every year is different, there are events and programs we try to continue on an annual basis. These programs and events include:
The Fall Color Run (October)
The color run is our biggest fundraiser of the fall! We raise money through parent donations and the kids participate in a fun run where parents can purchase bags of color powder to throw on the kids.
Community Holiday Drive (November)
The TJ PTO helps to support TJ School's families in need with a Thanksgiving Basket Drive and holiday gift cards to help make ends meet. These donations go directly to the TJ families in need. We will also be supporting the Morris Street Mission's annual coat drive.
School Store Holiday Boutique (December)
The PTO has school store events for the kids during lunch throughout the year, but the holiday boutique is our largest school store event in the first half of the year. The kids are able to shop and purchase gifts for their families for the holidays.
Parent's Night Out (Spring)
TJ Parent Night Out fundraiser is an adults-only night of fun in the spring. In year's past these events have included the March Madness Event and Trivia Night.
Book Fair (Spring)
The annual scholastic book fair is run and organized by the PTO in the spring and the school receives a direct percentage of the sales.
Family Sports Night (May)
The family sports night events are fun-filled evenings for the whole family. We are planning our third annual sports night for May and will include many fun sports-themed events and demonstrations.
School Store Mother's Day Boutique (Late April/May)
The PTO has school store events for the kids during lunch throughout the year, but the Mother's Day boutique is our largest school store event in the second half of the year. The kids are able to shop and purchase gifts for their mothers in addition to themselves with fun spring items.
Fifth Grade Farewell Picnic (June)
A day of activities, food and fun for 5th grade “graduating” students at an off campus location, usually Lidgerwood Park in Morristown, organized and run by the PTO to celebrate our fifth graders moving up.
We need parent volunteers to make all of our programs and events a reality! Please consider joining one of our committees or volunteering to chair one of our open committees.
